Letter, 1842 July 7, to Ingres.

A long letter to his friend expressing his regret at having to live in the Pyrenees (because of his wife's health and his finances) and his longing for the intellectual life of Paris. He also praises Ingres' portrait of the Duc d'Orleans and reflects on the changes that come with age. An engraved portrait of Norvins accompanies the material.
